I graduated from Kashmir University (India) and proceeded for specialization in internal medicine before coming to New Zealand. My training in New Zealand was in internal medicine and gastroenterology and my special interest is advanced therapeutic interventional endoscopy.

I am a fellow of the American society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (FASGE) and the American Gastroenterology Association (AGAF). I have served as clinical director of Gastroenterology at Middlemore Hospital and am responsible for the set-up of advanced interventional endoscopy that has made our department the premier advanced endoscopy centre in New Zealand.

Gastrointestinal stent placement for management of cancers as well as post-operative leaks
Management of obesity – both using medical treatments as well gastric balloons
Endoscopic treatment of achalasia cardia, zenker’s diverticulum and gastroparesis (POEM, Z-POEM, G-POEM)
Endoscopic removal of submucosal gastrointestinal tumours
Endoscopic full thickness resection of adenomas and small Gastrointestinal cancer
