Universe Leung

After obtaining his medical degree from the University of Otago, Universe completed a clinical research fellowship in America and a post fellowship program in Australia with a focus on complex liver and pancreas resections, UGI surgery and liver transplantation. To further his interests in advanced laparoscopic surgery, he spent the final six months of training at the renown Institut Mutualiste Montsouri, Paris, before returning to New Zealand.

Universe works in both the private and public sector, with an appointment as a general surgeon at North Shore Hospital, Auckland. 

In addition to being a native English speaker, he is also fluent in Cantonese and proficient in Mandarin.
